Setup steps

Pick your computer, then follow the steps in order.

1. Install Node.js

   Go to nodejs.org/en/download, download the LTS version and install it with the default options.

   Then open a new PowerShell (press Start, type PowerShell, press Enter)Terminal (press ⌘ + Space, type Terminal, press Enter) and check the version. You need 22 or newer.

   node -vCopy

2. Install Git (recommended)

   Download it from git-scm.com/downloads/win and click Next on every screen.

3. Install Claude Code

   Paste this into the same window and press Enter:

   irm https://claude.ai/install.ps1 | iexCopy

   curl -fsSL https://claude.ai/install.sh | bashCopy

   Close the window, open a new one, and check it worked:

   claude --versionCopy

4. Sign in to Claude

   Type claude and press Enter. Choose Claude account with subscription, sign in in the browser that opens, and click Authorize. Then type /exit. You need a Claude Pro or Max plan.

5. Unzip Video Studio

   Right-click video-studio.zip → Extract All… → Extract. Move the video-studio folder somewhere permanent, like Documents. Don't run files from inside the zip.

   Double-click video-studio.zip and move the video-studio folder into Documents.

6. Run Setup (once)

   Open the folder and double-click Setup (Windows).bat. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click More info → Run anyway.

   Right-click Setup (Mac).command → Open → Open.

   Wait until the black window says All set (a few minutes the first time).

7. Start the dashboard

   Double-click Start Video Studio (Windows).batStart Video Studio (Mac).command. Keep the black window open. Your browser opens localhost:4500 and the badge says Claude ready.

8. Make your first video

   Type a request in Ask Claude and press Ctrl + Enter:

   Finished videos appear on the right and in the Video Studio folder on your Desktop, with captions and hashtags.
